Abstract

The two goals of this thesis are to ascertain syntactic and semantic differences between -dako hanin and daninof the Korean quotation construction markers and to reveal that 'danincan be a syntactic unit after grammaticalizational processes. First of all, we examined that 'danin was abbreviated into -dako hanin synchronically. -dako hanincombines with the compliment head noun, which have communicative meaning Second, the semantic meaning of -dako hanjnhas an indirectness of the statements, daninhas probability of the statements. Third, 'danincan be one of the adnominal endings in Korean, because daninand adnominal ending (i)n' have same syntactic phenomena
