Abstract
Teacher, learner and materials are three basic important factors that determine the good education. In Korean language education as a foreign language(KFL) materials for learners are of very poor quality. There are some general textbooks which many Korean language institutions have published home and abroad, but it needs to develop various functional textbooks for speaking, listening, reading and writing, also for audio-visual aids and dictionaries according to the various type of learners' needs.

The study for materials of KFL is subdivided into material typology, material development and material evaluation. The study of material typology deals with the various type of textbooks by learners' factors and materials' factors. Learner's factors are the level, type, motive, nationality, age and need of learners. Materials' factors are type of materials : artificial materials, natural materials, audio visual aids, materials for grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and culture.

The study of material development deals with the all the process of developing various textbooks and audio visual aids. The study of material evaluation evaluate the quality of all materials and have to show the criteria of evaluation for the various materials.

We have to consider many factors to develop good materials for KFL. Firstly we should analyze various needs of learners : the fluent performance of language, motive of learning and understanding of linguistic culture. We should harmonize the communicative method, audio lingual method and grammar translating method therefore develop the textbooks which integrate and mix the various language functions, various materials, various subjects and the style of spoken or written language.

Concretely the standard curriculum, teaching items, basic vocabulary and standard Korean grammar for foreign learners should be enacted right away. In the process of developing a material the developer should take account of the criteria of evaluation, teacher's manual or handbook and various factors of learner's needs. Every chapters of textbooks have to show the goal of learning and culture points from low level to high level. Finally I propose the material bank on line of internet, which store up various textbooks, teaching program, syllabus and multimedia materials for KFL home and abroad In this web bank all KFL teachers can offer shares of various materials and various experiences jointly.
