There is also an examination of how these teaching materials have been used with special regard to whether they are used by institutions other than the one in which they were developed, It is argued the reasons for not using materials across institutions are as follows :

1) difficulties in integrating with the existing curriculum :

2) difficulties in assigning assessment ;

3) a lack of effective learning outcomes compared to the amount time invested ;

4) not developed here syndrome ;

5) lack of authenticity.

These discussions lead to a new direction for the development of the Korean language materials :

1) more variety of authentic materials should be developed and they also should be designed in such a flexible way that they enable teachers and learners to select according to the learner groups needs.

2) they should be developed on the basis of a constructivist approach taking into account the skills and knowledge required by a future society. The Virtual Centre for Learning and Teaching at Monash University is also suggested as a model for creating a rich learning environment which can support classroom teaching as well as autonomous learning.
