東海岸의 舊汀線 堆積層에 關한 考察

Abstract

The old marine formations at various levels have been found along the eastern coast of Korean Peninsular, but most of them are distributed and are not in their original site and height. The ancient beach deposits at 10~15m and 6~9m above mean sea level maintain typically their original layers and height. The purpose of this study is to investigate the character of ancient sediment layers that have an altitude of 10~15m and 6~9m. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The ancient sediment layers at Jeong jari and Gampo at 10~15m in altitude consist of three parts. 1) The angular and sub-angular deposits of upper part; this deposits rest upon the ancient beach gravels and are regarded as subaerial materials which were formed under cold and arid environment.
