Abstract

This study examines how urban fringe is residentialized and what is the result and problem in changed new residential area First, this paper clarified the change of Gyungi-do, which is wholly increasing in population, industry, house since 1990.

Yongin-kun changes farmland into residential area in the process of residentialization More specifically, this paper analyzed how the farmland is changed into residential area, and how this change is reflected in the place in the case study of Yubang 3 ri and 6ri(Bangchukdong), Yongin-eup, Yongin-kun, Bangchukdong experienced land speculation by outsiders, housing development in farmland and much weight in new removers of total inhabitants.

Thus, the process of residentialization in Bangchukdong gives a facet of suburbanization of rural area, and reveals the unbalanced urbanization.
