고등학교 '고전' 과목을 통한 논술교육의 방향

Abstract

이 연구는 국어교육 내에서 그 실제적 위치에 비해 이론적 연구가 부족한 두 영역인 논술교육과 고전 과목의 정체성을 탐색하고, 고전 과목을 매개로 하여 논술교육을 실천할 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 데에 목적이 있다. 문제를 해결하는 글쓰기로서의 논술이 통합적 국어활동으로 이루어지는 고전 과목과 결합할때 두 영역의 위상과 정체성이 정립될 것이며, 그 근거는 도구 교과와 내용 교과로서의 상보적 기능, 범교과적 특성, 문제-해결 구조 등을 들 수 있다.

고전 과목을 통한 논술교육을 위해서는 고전 과목을 구성하는 원리가 필요한데, 이를 위해서 탐구 주제를 유형화할 필요가 있다. 또한 학습자의 활발한 논술 활동을 촉진하기 위해서는 명쾌하고 단순하게 제시된 문제를 통해 찬반 토론을 거쳐 자신의 생각을 한 편의 글로 완성하도록 하는 논술교육의 모형이 요구된다. 이러한 논술교육의 사례로 윤리적 딜레마 문제를 포함하고 있는 고전 작품들을 하나의 유형으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate identity of teaching essay writing and the subject Classic which are necessary but there are not sufficient in Korean language education. In this thesis, essay writing is defined as problem-solving writing, and the subject Classic is defined as high literary standard classics to study integrated activity, hearing・speakin g・reading・writing to become cultured. Essay writing as tool subject and the Classic as content subject can be combined with cross curriculum and structure of problem-solving.

A model teaching essay writing through the subject Classic must be made of inquiry topic, simple and clear question to answer yes or no. To this purpose, this thesis suggested teaching classic included ethical dilemmas.
