| dc.description.abstract | 경남 울주군 언양면의 토지대장과 호적에서 관찰되는 20세기 전반 토지소유와 농민의 기본 형태는 자작농 체제였다. 산간부 도작지대라는 자연환경이 그 배경을 이
루었다. 통설적 이해와 달리 일제의 지배기에 언양면의 농가경제는 오히려 안정되었다. 대량의 인구가 일본으로 건너간 것이 주요 원인이었다. 언양장을 중심으로 시 장경제가 발전한 것도 다른 한편의 원인이었다. 무엇보다 중요한 요인은 법제로서 가족의 성립과 가족 규모의 확대였다. 그에 따라 동성의 친족집단이 확산되었다. 가 족결합의 강화와 친족집단의 확산은 양반과 상민 신분 간의 경제적 격차와 사회적 차별을 해소하는 데 도움이 되었다. 20세기 전반 언양의 소농사회는 근대적 전환과 유교적 전환이 어울린 복선의 전환을 경험하였다. | - |
