dc.description.abstract | In his previous essay, Action and Inquiry in Deweys philosophy, Melvin L. Rogers contends that John Dewey modifies Aristotles epistemic categories (episteme, phronesis, and techne) and thereby offers a theory of person and inquiry that post-Analytical philosophers need. With his much deeper understanding of Dewey, Rogers once again gives us an Aristotelian interpretation of Deweys philosophy in his recent work, The Undiscovered Dewey: Religion, Morality, and the Ethos of Democracy. This time, however, he brings up Deweys theory of democracy, which can be understood in the context of cooperative intelligence, to borrow the phrase from James Campbell. | - |
