유식불교의 삼성설과 하이데거의 실존방식 분석의 비교

Abstract

이 글은 유식불교의 삼성설과 현존재의 실존방식에 대한 초기 하이데거의 분석을 서로 비교하는 것을 목표하고 있다. 필자는 이러한 연구를 정은해의 <불교의 두 주요 개념인 진여와 윤회의 시간론적 해석>와 권순홍의 연구 <유식불교의 거울로 본 하이데거>와 비판적으로 대결하는 방식으로 수행했다. 필자는 변계소집성을 비본래적 실존에, 원성실성을 본래적 실존에 상응하는 것으로 보는 정은해의 견해에 기본적으로 동의한다. 그러나 정은해의 견해는 상당히 혼란스럽게 개진되고 있는 면이 있다. 필자는 정은해의 견해에 대한 비판적 검토를 통해서 정은해의 견해가 지향하고 있다는 생각되는 사태를 보다 분명하게 개진하는 방식으로 필자의 견해를 제시해 보았다. 권순홍은 변계소집성을 비본래적 실존에 상응하는 것으로 보면서도 본래적인 실존에 상응하는 것을 원성실성이 아니라 의타기성으로 보고 있다. 필자는 또한 이러한 견해가 갖는 문제점을 상세히 검토하는 방식으로 필자의 견해를 개진했다.

This paper aims to compare Heideggers Analysis of the Ways of Existence and the Trisvahāva Theory of the Yogācāra School. This study involved a critical examination of Cheong Eun-Haes A Time-theoretical Interpretation of the Central Concepts of Buddhism, Tathata and Samsara and Kwon Soon-Hongs Heidegger Seen in the Mirror of the Yogācāra Buddhism. In principle I agree with Cheong Eun-Hae, who insists that parikalpita-svabhāva (遍計所執性) corresponds to an inauthentic existence and pariniṣpanna-svabhāva (圓成實性) corresponds to an authentic existence. However, his view is presented quite confusingly. I put forward my view by stating clearly what Cheong Eun-Haes view intends. Kwon Soon-Hong insists that paratantra-svabhāva (依他起性) corresponds to an authentic existence, though he sees parikalpita-svabhāva (遍計所執性) corresponding to an inauthentic existence. I have put forward my view by examining the problems associated with Kwon Soon-Hongs view in detail.
