dc.description.abstract | In this paper, a step estimation algorithm and the hardware module for pedestrian navigation system arepresented. GPS can provide the navigation information only when the satellites are visible. On the other hand,inertial navigation systems can calculate the moving distance anywhere but its error increases with time due to thesensor bias. In order to detect the humans walking distance, a low-cost MEMS inertial sensor is only utilized. Theperformance of the proposed system is verified by many experiments. The proposed system is able to keep anaccuracy of 98% in step detection and 94% in walking distance. | en |
