- 프란츠 클레멘스 호노라투스 헤르만 브렌타노(1838-1917)의 철학은 그 엄청난 사실적 영향력에도 불구하고 비교적 덜 인정받고 있다. 브렌타노 철학의 제값 찾기에 유의하는 슈테그뮐러는 브렌타노 철학을 현대 철학의 출발점으로 삼으며 그 근거로서 다음의 사실을 내세운다.
