중국인 유학생의 문화적응 유형과 문화적응 스트레스, 기본심리욕구 및 대학생활 적응의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 중국인 유학생 211명을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사를 바탕으로 중국인 유학생의 문화적응 유형과 문화적응 스트레스, 기본심리욕구 및 대학생활 적응의 관계를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, Berry의 문화적응 유형 이론에 근거하여 중국 문화유지 정도와 한국 문화 접촉에 따른 군집분석 결과 중국인 유학생의 문화적응 유형은 통합 우세형, 분리 우세형 및 동화/주변화 유형의 3가지 문화적응 유형으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 확인된 3가지 문화적응 유형에 속한 학생들은 문화적응 스트레스, 기본심리욕구 및 대학생활 적응에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 중국인 유학생의 대학생활 적응은 기본심리욕구와는 정적 상관을 문화적응 스트레스와는 부적 상관관계를 보였으며 이들의 대학생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 문화적응 스트레스는 부적으로 기본심리욕구 중에서 유능성 및 관계성은 정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 중국인 유학생의 학교적응을 돕기 위한 교육 및 상담적 개입방법을 문화적응 유형, 기본심리 욕구 및 문화적응 스트레스의 관점에서 제시하고 논의하였다.

This study aims to examine Chinese students acculturation type and the relationships among acculturation stress, basic psychological needs and college life adaptation by investigating 211 Chinese students in Korea. First, a cluster analysis was implemented based on Berry's acculturation theory, thereby yielding three types of Chinese students acculturation types: integration dominant, separation dominant, and assimilation/mixed type. Second, acculturation stress, basic psychological needs and college life adaptation differed significantly according to examined acculturation types. Third, there were positive correlation between basic psychological needs and college life adaptation, negative correlation between acculturation stress and college life adaptation. Furthermore, relatedness and competence of basic psychological needs had positive influence on college life adaptation but acculturation stress had negative influence on college life adaptation. Effective educational and counseling intervention to facilitate Chinese students adaptation in Korea were discussed based on the

result and future recommendations were suggested.
