Loan Rate Deregulation and Credit Market Signalling Equilibrium

Abstract

The 7th Seoul Journal of Economics International Symposium, which was co-hosted with the Korea Institute of Finance, was held in August 1999 with a theme of 'Structural Adjustments after the Asian Financial Crisis.' The 7th Symposium was a sequel to the 6th Symposium held in 1998. Whereas the 6th Symposium dealt with the causes and mechanisms of the financial crises that swept the region in 1997, the 7th was devoted to issues of structural adjustment being made after the crises. The objective of the 7th Symposium was to find out answers to the following questions:
