향가와 배경 설화의 관련성 -「怨歌」를 중심으로-

Abstract

이 글은 『三國遺事』에 수록되어 있는 향가들을 대상으로 그 향가가 들어 있는 배경 설화와의 관련성을 살펴본 것이다. 향가와 배경 설화의 관련성은 소원한 경우와 부분적 관련이 있는 경우, 긴밀한 경우로 나누어 살펴보았다. 「讚耆婆郞歌」와 「祭亡妹歌」는 관련이 소원하며 「慕竹旨郞歌」, 「願往生歌」, 「風謠」, 「安民歌」, 「禱千手大悲歌」는 향가와 배경 설화가 부분적으로 관련을 맺고 있다. 향가와 배경 설화의 관계가 긴밀한 것으로는 「薯童謠」, 「處容歌」, 「獻花歌」, 「彗星歌」, 「遇賊歌」, 「?率歌」가 있다. 「怨歌」는 기존의 해독에서는 배경 설화에 나타나는 栢樹, 謂曰 정도만이 노래의 栢史, 敎因隱과 관련되는 것으로 파악해 왔다. 그러나 이 글에서는 배경 설화의 有如와 「怨歌」의 多?行齊가 직접 관련되는 것임을 분명히 밝힘으로써 「怨歌」도 배경 설화와 향가의 관련성이 긴밀한 경우에 속함을 논증하였다. 기존의 해독에서 多?行齊의 多?를 다히로 읽은 경우는 있었으나 그 의미를 함께, 같이로 파악하였었다. 이 글에서는 15세기 국어와 석독 구결 자료를 참고할 때 多?[다히]가 다름 없이, 처럼의 의미이며 이것이 배경 설화의 有如와 직접 대응되는 것임을 논증하였다.

This article looked at the relevance of hyangga contained in 『Samgukyusa(三國遺事)』 and background story. The relevance of hyangga and background story is divided into the following cases. (1) Not closely related cases：「Changiparangga(讚耆婆郞歌)」 and 「Jemang- maega(祭亡妹歌)」. (2) Partly related cases：「Mojukjirangga(慕竹旨郞歌)」, 「Wonwangsaengga (願往生歌)」, 「Pungyo(風謠)」, 「Anminga(安民歌)」, and 「Docheonsudaebiga(禱千手大悲歌)」. (3) Closely related cases：「Seodongyo (薯童謠)」, 「Cheoyongga(處容歌)」, 「Heonhwaga(獻花歌)」, 「Hyeseongga(彗星歌)」, 「Ujeokga(遇賊歌)」, and 「Dosolga(兠率歌)」. In previous studies it only has been catched that 栢樹, 謂曰 of background story are related to 栢史, 敎因隱 of 「Wonga(怨歌)」. In this article, however, it is clearly demonstrable that 有如 of background story is related to 多攴行齊 of 「Wonga(怨歌)」. In previous studies, there was a case that 多攴 was read as dahi(다히) and the meaning was identified as together. It is correct that 多攴 is read as dahi(다히). But the meaning is like, same. This fact can be seen through 15th century Korean data and Seokdokgugyeol(釋讀口訣) data of the Goryeo Dynasty.
