A Real-time News Monitoring System for Trend Analysis

Abstract

In recent years, internet news has become one of the most important channel for obtaining information. More and more people read the news through internet-connected computer, tablet, and smartphones. At the same time, the number of online media is also increasing explosively. News are constantly being reproduced, and as a result, the number of news is growing very fast. Consequently, getting the key point or issue from large amount of news in the internet is of great interest. This thesis covers the related work, theory, system implementation including how to crawl online news from internet, and how the system handles the online news data to obtain important information.
