- Abstract
- A disulfonamide building block was prepared, which could selectively chelate Pb(II) ions an aqueous solution. A conjugated microporous polymer were synthesized via Sonogashira-Hagihara cross coupling reaction of the disulfonamide building block and then chemically modified to overcome its hydrophobic property by a sulfonation reaction. The polymer showed microporosity with Brunauer-Emmett-Teller specific surface area of 807m2g-1 and could remove Pb(II) ions from an aqueous solution efficiently. The lead sorption capacity of the polymer was around 0.60 mmol/g under non-buffered conditions. The polymer also exhibited the selectivity for the Pb(II) ion over other toxic metal ions such as Cu(II) and Ni(II).
