삼원 공간을 활용한 낯선 공간의 회화적 기록 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2012년부터 2016년까지 '상상(想像)', '낯선 공간(空間)'을 주제로 작품의 배경이 되는 전통 삼원 공간에 대한 연구와, 연구를 토대로 한 본인의 공간 표현방법을 비교하고, 이론적 근거, 작품의 조형적 특성과 표현기법 등을 분석하여 본인 작업의 이론을 체계적으로 제시하기 위한 작품 연구 논문이다.

새로운 곳의 낯섦과 신선함은 나의 상상력을 자극한다. 객관적인 모습은 사진으로 남길 수 있지만, 느낌에 대한 기록은 담을 수 없다. 그렇다면 자신이 경험한 공간을 자신의 정신 속 신선한 아우라로 소유할 수 있다면 좋지 않을까하는 막연한 생각에서 내가 경험한 낯선 공간들을 기록하기 시작하였다. 낯선 공간은 본인이 목격하였지만, 공간은 실경과 상상이 조합되어 만들어진 공간이다. 이미 목격하였지만 다시는 목격할 수 없는 곳, 개개인이 같은 추억을 다른 이미지로 만드는 경험들을 기록하고자 하였다. 또한 이러한 과정을 통해 본인의 즐거움의 시각을 보여주고 스스로 경험을 유도하는 방향으로 제시하고자 하였다.

따라서 본 연구는 실제 장소와 상상의 조합으로 형성된 낯선 공간의 형성 과정과 의미를 찾고, 그 공간의 배경과 구성과정, 기록된 내용의 의미와 조형적 특성을 분석하여 공간의 이론적 체계를 구축함에 목적이 있다.

제I장에서는 낯선 공간을 기록하게 된 창작동기와 목적을 서술하고 연구의 내용과 방법 등을 간략하게 소개하였다.

제II장에서는 낯선 공간의 배경이 된 전통 산수 공간 삼원공간을 고찰하고 본인 그림에 나타난 삼원 공간의 차용과 변용에 대해 분석하였다. 1절에서는 삼원 공간을 분석하면서 이상공간의 모습을 고찰해본다. 2절에서는 삼원 공간과 낯선 공간을 비교하여, 차용된 특징과 변이된 성격의 차이를 알아봄으로서 전통을 계승한 기록의 이론적 토대를 마련하였다.

제III장에서는 낯선 공간의 기록과정에 따라 구성 원리와 기록된 내용의 성격, 그리고 현대 공간 기록화로 어떤 역할을 할 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 1절에서는 낯선 공간 형성함에 있어서 상상의 활동과 과정을 알아보고, 2절에서는 기록된 구성물이 갖는 실재함에 대한 성격을 알아보았다. 제3절에서는 공간 기록화로서 기록의 역할과 구체적인 이미지 정보들을 분석하였다.

제IV장에서는 본인이 낯선 공간의 공간 구성과 표현 기법에 대해서 살펴보았다. 1장에서는 낯선 공간이 내용에 따른 화면 구성과 구성의 결과 모습을 비교하고 분석하였다. 2장에서는 낯선 공간의 표현기법에서 사용하는 전통기법을 설명한다. 재료의 선택의 당위성과 사용되는 색채를 소개하고, 전통채색기법을 어떻게 활용하고 있는지를 알아보았다.

제V장에서는 본론에서 논의된 내용을 요약하고 연구를 통해 얻은 결과에 대해 서술하였다.

이상의 연구를 통하여 상상을 통한 낯선 공간의 형성 과정과 기록에 대한 이론적 토대를 확실히 한 후 향후 지속될 작업의 방향 모색과 발전의 기반으로 삼고자 한다.

This thesis deals with my works on The strange space. In comparison with the Three distances space, which is the base of my work, I show the theoretical principles, characteristics and technique of expression.

The unfamiliarity of new places makes me to have a rich imagination. We can keep the objective reality with photographs. But its not possible for keeping the feelings. This motivates my idea that It would be wonderful to own that space, which is experienced, with the fresh aura by my painting. The strange space is the combination of the reality and imagination. By recording this space, I preserve the place where I can not go again and record the process of transforming the same memories to different images. Also, by this way, I also show my view of enjoyment and induce their own experiences on the place.

So, one of the purpose of this thesis is to find the formation process and the meaning of The strange space, the other is to construct the theoretical basis of the space by analyzing background, technique, and feature of formation.

In chapter I, I explain the purpose and motivation of drawing the strange space, and briefly introduce the contents and method of research.

In chapter II, I study the traditional mountain-water space, Three distance space, and analyze the borrowing and transformation. In section 1, I construe the Three distances space and ideal space. In section 2, I provide the theoretical foundation of records that inherited tradition by comparing the Three distance space and The strange space, and checking the difference between borrowed and transformed characters.

In chapter III, I examine the composition principle, the nature of the recorded contents, and the role of modern space recording in The strange space by transcribing it. In section 1, I examine the activities and processes of the imagination in forming the The strange space. In section 2, I examined the nature of the existence of the recorded composition. In section 3, we analyze the role of recording and information of specific image as spatial recording.

In Chapter IV, I looked at the space composition and expression technique of The strange space. In section 1, I compare and analyze the features according to the screen composition and the result of compositing The strange space. In section 2, I explain the traditional techniques used in the expression technique of The strange space. I introduced the necessity of material selection and used colors, and examined how to use traditional coloring technique.

In Chapter V, I summarize the contents of the discussion and describe the results of the research.

Through the above research, I will make sure the theoretical basis of the formation process and the record of The strange space through the imagination, and as the basis for the development of the future work.
