New Manzamine Alkaloids from the Indonesian Sponge Acanthostrongylophora ashmoria

Abstract

Three new manzamine alkaloids, together with five known manzamines and two related -carboline alkaloids, were isolated from the sponge Acanthostrongylophora ashmoria collected from Kepulauan Seribu Marine National Park, Indonesia. Structures of these new compounds were determined on the basis of NMR and HRFABMS analyses, as well as comparison with literatures. Two isolated new compounds are N-oxide derivatives of manzamine B and the other one is a dehydrogenated form of a previously reported manzamine.
