Abstract
In recent years, environmental issues have become a growing concern for the construction sector and have caused a number of complaints. In particular, construction activities are associated with various noise-related problems, which can cause mental and physical damage and furthermore increase risk and costs to construction companies because of delays or project suspensions. These issues could be averted by conducting comprehensive noise assessment and prediction during the preconstruction phase before noise-related problems occur. However, conventional approaches are inadequate because they focus on passive and defensive noise management initiated ex post facto and also typically depend on monitoring, measurement noise and experts judgments during the noise control phase
