Metallic nanoparticle has its own distinct properties in a wide range of engineering. Such properties are modified when they are assembled and form structures. One of the unique traits is optical property; with incident light. Metallic nanoparticles on surface have properly enhancing Raman signal intensity by coupling with incident light field. This phenomenon is called a surface plasmon resonance, and has various applications including the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), the metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF), Organic Light Emitted Device (OLED) and solar cells.
In this research, diverse nanoparticle structures are introduced via electrostatic focusing principle. After that, they are demonstrated that these various morphologies are helpful to improve Raman signals under Plasmon Resonance Phenomena.
Throughout this, we proposed a novel substrate for Raman scattering. Using the method of electrostatic focusing lens, we demonstrated the possibility of the enhancement of light scattering signal intensity due to flower-like structures. This patterning method may have attractive prospects for wide applications, including biochip, SERS, and solar cell.
