뉴스커버리지데이터에 대한 고찰

Abstract

언론에서 다뤄지는 의제의 변화는 의론의 형성에 중요한 영향을 끼친다. 어떤 의제를 부각시키느냐에 따라 대중이 가지는 관심도는 쉽게 변화하며 그 것으로 인해 정치적이나 사회적으로 다른 결과를 불러 일으키기도 한다. 따라서 언론에 대한 연구의 중요성은 점점 커져 가고 있으며 언론과 관련된 연구도 증가하고 있다. 이러한 연구는 대부분이 언론 매체를 통해 발표된 뉴스자료에 대한 분석에 많이 의존하고 있으며, 특히 뉴스에서 사용되는 언어의 성격이나 기사의 어조가 많이 이용되고 있다. 이러한 언론 기사의 어감과 기사에 사용된 단어의 수를 분석을 위한 요약정보로 활용하고 그 정보에 +/- 부호를 줌으로써 하나의 숫자로 표현한 자료를 뉴스커버리지자료라고 한다. 본 연구에서는 언론 연구에 중요한 뉴스커버리지자료에 대한 몇 가지 통계적 성질에 대해서 논의하고자 한다.기존 연구와의 차별성을 두어 뉴스커버리지자료가 시계열 자료라는 가정하에서 자료가 가지고 있는 특성에 대한 연구에 중점을 두었다. 뉴스커버리지자료의 분포적 특징을 설명하고 그 특징에서 나온 여러 특성과 효과 및 측도들을 살핀다. 그리고 예제를 통하여 이러한 성질들로 언론 매체가 다루는 특정 주제에 대한 성향에 대한 비교로 사용 될 수 있음을 알아본다. 다음으로는 변화점 모형에 뉴스커버리지자료를 적용하여 시계열적 특성을 집중적으로 연구해 본다.

It is important to instigate discussion in order to change the agenda of the mass media, as the publics concerns with social phenomena depend on an agenda that is emphasized by the mass media. These concerns bring about different political results . This is because research for mass media has grown in importance. This research analyzes news data, in particular the tone of the news or the character of the words in the news data. We mark + or - them and change them numbers , and then use them for analysis. This data is called news coverage data. In this paper, we consider the statistical characteristics of news coverage data. We assume this data is time series data and explain the feature of distribution. From this process, we know that the effect of feature or scale expressing the news coverage data . We can then discern the tendency of the data through its characteristics . Finally, we apply the change-point model to this data and intensively study the feature of the time series in this data.
