기독교와 불교의 이단 논의 비교 연구
Religious truths are so intricate and profound that it’s hard for ordinary people to realize them. The parables are used to help ordinary people understand the truth. That is why religious texts include a wide variety of parables. Lotus Sūtra also has abundant parables. This article aims to study the characteristics of the parables in the Lotus Sūtra. First, Buddha’s parables in the Lotus Sūtra explain how the Buddha teaches people via a means. Second, the parables in the Lotus Sūtra are directed towards a comprehensive range of people regardless of age, sex, social class, or education. Third, Buddha’s parables are the natural narratives with no surprise, unpredictability, and irony.

Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is for comparing the attitude to New Religipous Movements(NRM) between Christianity and Buddhism. Christianity is a way-oriented religion, whereas Buddhism is a goal-oriented religion. Buddhism put emphasis on finding enlightenment itself and Buddhists assert there are various ways to achieve enlightenment. But Christians believe there is only one way of salvation. In other words, they are more concerned with some particular way to enlightenment or salvation than itself. If a believer don’t agree with some of christian doctrine, he/she is considered to be a heresy. An arguments for orthodox and heresy still progresses in Christianity whenever NRM appeared. But Buddhism has only community of Upāya(方便) not cult or heresy.
