청소년의 우울과 학교적응의 관계에서 공격성 및 자아탄력성의 매개효과

Abstract

본 연구는 우리나라 청소년들이 경험하는 우울이 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 어떠한 심리적 기제가 작용하는지 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 구조방정식모형을 설정하여 우울과 학교적응 간의 관계에서 공격성과 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구를 위한 조사자료는 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국 아동·청소년 패널조사(KCYPS) 2015년 6차년도 중학교 1학년 패널자료이며, 최종분석 대상에는 총 2,014명의 자료가 포함되었다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구모형을 분석한 결과, 청소년의 우울은 학교적응에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지는 않으나 공격성과 자아탄력성을 매개로 하여 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 공격성은 우울과 학교적응 간의 관계에서 유의미한 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아탄력성은 우울과 학교적응의 관계에서 유의미한 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 청소년의 우울이 공격성과 자아탄력성을 순차적으로 매개하여 학교적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 청소년의 우울이 학교적응에 미치는 영향에서 공격성과 자아탄력성의 매개변인으로서의 기능을 살펴보았다. 우울은 공격성을 강화시켜 학교적응에 어려움을 발생시키며, 자아탄력성을 감소시켜 학교적응에 문제를 일으키는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 청소년의 학교적응을 높이기 위해 청소년의 공격성을 감소시키고 자아탄력성 강화시키는 것의 중요성을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구가 가지고 있는 한계점을 제시하고 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

This study set up a structural equation model to identify the process of determining which psychological mechanisms affect school adaptation, and to analyze the mediating effects of aggression and ego-resilience. The current study analyzed 2,014 data of high school senior students taken from the Korea Children Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The results of the study are as follows. First, youth aggression showed a significant mediating effect on the relationship between depression and school adaptation. Second, ego-resilience has shown that it has a significant mediating effect on the relationship between depression and school adaptation. Third, youth depression has a significant effect on school adaptation by sequentially mediating aggression and ego-resilience. This study provides the role of aggression and ego-resilience as mediating variables between depression and school adaptation and identify the importance of ego-resilience to adapt well to school.
