Abstract

This research introduces concrete facts of manuscript, Sanghahyupgagjeon which belongs to the National Hangul Museum as well as translation copy of Yeegyeongonggungjeouhyupgag which is the subject matter of Geumgogigwan. Yeegyeongonggungjeouhyupgag was translated and published in 1963 for the first time into Yeegyeongonggi of Fully translated Geumgogigwan which is a copy of Jungum. Therefore, it is meaningful that Sanghahyupgagjeon is the first Hangul manuscript of Yeegyeongonggungjeouhyupgag. Sanghahyupgagjeon was written by YoonYongGu and was translated when YoonBaekYoung was 25-26 year old age. In the light of this, Sanghahyupgagjeon could be written in 1913. It is noticeable for Sanghahyupgagjeon that the translator added new contents and changed narration from the original text. The translation patterns of Sanghahyupgagjeon are below; 1) a story frame of new narration, 2) reverse narration in three stages between Sanghahyupgagjeon and Yeegyeongonggungjeouhyupgag, 3) emphasis on discipline of women. The most remarkable point of Sanghahyupgagjeon is to consist of new narration as a story frame. Furthermore, Sanghahyupgagjeon highlight attitudes towards life as women because Sanghahyupgagjeon targeted at women and changed the story.
