『奎章全韻』編纂背景考: 正祖와 洪啓禧의 관계를 중심으로

Abstract

Kyujangjeonun, compiled by civil officials of Kyujanggak under the imperial order of Jeongjo at the end of the eighteenth century, was the epitome of the Korean phonological books in the past dynasties. Studies on Kyujangjeonun were mainly carried out by linguistics researchers in the past who emphasized its significance in language history. The majority of studies on it focuses on the features of it by comparing the style and content of Huadungseongeumtungseokmugu by Bakseongwon with that of Samwoonseunghoi by Honggyehui. The study of the compilation background of Kyujangjeonun is mainly focused on the interest of Jeongjo in phonology presented by it, while ignoring the historical facts behind it. Study on the change of attitude of Jeongjo to the Samwoonseunghoi and the process of his deletion of Honggyehui will be carried out in this paper to reveal the fact that that Jeongjo directed to issue the Huadungseongeumtungseokmugu by written by Bakseongwon rather than Samwoonseunghoi written by Honggyehui and re-edit and re-issue of Kyujangjeonun was to delete the existence of Honggyehui who was connected to the death of Jeongjos father, Prince Sado.
