朝鮮 謄錄記錄의 類型과 그 管理體系에 관한 硏究

Abstract

This study focused on the types and the managing system of Deung-rok(謄錄). The word of Deung-rok primarily has meant copy or retranscription. In Joseon Dynasty, however, the word Deung-rok had different meanings which include document files and records & archives management system. The definition of Deung-rok needs to be clarified in the field of Korean history to avoid confusion. The Deung-rok documents were studied by separating them into five major types - daily business logs, quasi law books, register or account books, administrative transactional document files and reports & manuals. Each type has different characteristics in structure, compiling and utilities. In addition, this study investigated the whole process of Deung-rok system, including the creation, preservation and management of Deung-rok. The Deung-rok documents were created by officials who evaluated original records and extracted and copied selected records. The Deung-rok documents were dispersed and preserved at each place based on their utilization and importance.
