- Abstract
- At construction sites, the use of load distributive compression anchors (LDCAs) is increasing because of their high-bearing capacity and removable steel strands. Multiple anchor bodies installed along the anchor length transmit the loads applied to the steel strands to the grout and ground in an LDCA. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effect of multiple anchor bodies on the load transfer behavior of an LDCA. In this study, a physical model test system is proposed to investigate the load transfer characteristics of an LDCA. An LDCA was physically scaled down, and a calibration chamber designed to apply confining pressure on the ground was used. Furthermore, considering the structural characteristics of an LDCA, the axial strains of the grout at various locations were measured. The pull-out test was conducted using the proposed test method, and the appropriateness of the proposed testing system was validated by the test results.
