A Comparison of Sports Medical Services Delivery System between Zambian and Korean Professional Football Leagues

Abstract

Despite sports medical services seemingly being provided, there currently seem to be lack of a clearly defined management structural system to coordinate as well as manage the delivery of sports medical services in the Zambian Football Premier League. Therefore, this study sought to examine and compare the management structural system which was being used in the delivery of sports medical services in the Zambian Football Premier League to that of the South Korean Professional Football League. Thereafter, suggest or necessitate establishment of a coordinated management structural system in the provision of sports medical services in Zambian Football League. A qualitative comparative design was applied by way of using a semi-structured questionnaire to collect data. Utilizing the thematic method of analysis, the data was analyzed to answer the research questions that the study presented with. The study found that, compared to South Korea there is lack of a well-established as well as organized structural management system in the delivery of sports medical services in the Zambian Football Premier League. Hence, there is need of having a structural system transformation which encompasses coordination as well as an ideal service personnel in place. Therefore, it is hoped that the Zambia Football Association may institute this sports healthcare transformational idea and bring about a well management structural system in the delivery of sports medical services in the Football Premier League. Similarly, the South Korean Professional Football Confederation who manage the Korean professional football league may equally derive something from this that will help them further strengthen their sports medical service delivery system in the league.

현재 잠비아 풋볼 프리미어 리그의 스포츠 의료 서비스 실태는 문제가 없게 보일 수 있지만 실제로는 스포츠 의료 서비스 제공을 조정하고 관리하기 위해 명확하게 정의된 관리 구조 시스템이 부족한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 잠비아축구연맹(Zambian Football Premier League)에서 스포츠 의료 서비스 제공에 활용되고 있는 경영구조 시스템을 한국 프로축구연맹(Professional Football League)과 비교하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 그러므로 잠비아 축구 리그 스포츠 의료 서비스 제공에 있어서 통합 관리 구조 시스템의 구축은 필요하다고 본 연구에서 제안한다. 연구방법으로는 반구조화 설문지를 사용하여 데이터를 수집하는 방식으로 질적 비교 연구를 진행하였다. 주제별 분석 방법을 활용하여 연구에서 제시한 연구 질문에 답하기 위한 분석을 하였다. 본 연구결과에 따르면 잠비아 축구 프리미어리그의 스포츠 의료서비스 제공에 있어 체계적이며 잘 정립된 구조적 관리시스템이 한국에 비해 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 현 잠비아 축구 프리미어리그는 이상적인 서비스 인력 뿐만 아니라 조정을 포함하는 구조적 시스템 변환이 필요하다. 그러므로 잠비아 축구 협회가 한국과 같은 변혁적 스포츠 헬스케어 아이디어를 도입하고 축구 프리미어리그의 스포츠 의료서비스에 잘 관리가 이루어지는 구조시스템을 가져올 수 있으면 이상적일 것이다. 마찬가지로 한국 K-리그를 운영하는 대한프로축구연맹도 이를 통해 리그 내 스포츠 의료 서비스 전달 체게를 더욱 강화할수 있는 새로운 것을 도출 하는데 도움을 줄수있을 것이다.
