Abstract
Proximal femur valgus osteotomy aims to improve hip mechanics and achieve better hip joint congruity in a deformed proximal femur and/or aspherical femoral head. We describe a novel technique in performing proximal valgus osteotomy by using a step-cut at the distal osteotomy fragment. This technique was successfully performed in 24 hips with an average of 24.7 degrees of valgization. All osteotomies healed and no perioperative complications were noted.
