Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사 과정 졸업 연주 프로그램인 J. Rameau 〈Les Nouvelles Piéces de Clavecin en La〉, L. v. Beethoven 〈Piano Sonata No. 30 in E Major, Op. 109〉, F. Chopin 〈Ballade No. 4 in F minor, Op. 52〉, S. Prokofiev 〈Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op.1〉에 대한 연구이다. 각 작품의 시대적 배경과 구조를 분석하여 곡에 대한 이해도를 높이는 데에 목적을 둔다. 장 필립 라모(Jean-Philippe Rameau, 1683-1764년)는 후기 바로크의 대표적인 이론가이자 작곡가이다. 라모는 세 권의 클라브생 독주 모음곡집을 작곡하였으며, 그 중 A조성 모음곡은 마지막 작품인 〈신 클라브생 모음곡집〉에 수록되었다. 모음곡 내에 전통적인 춤곡과 성격 소품이 병존하고 있으며, 동형진행을 통한 선율과 화성의 발전이 특징이다. 두도막 형식, 변주 형식, 론도 형식 등 구조적으로 다양한 시도가 이루어졌다. 루트비히 판 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)은 독일의 고전주의를 대표하는 작곡가이다. 그의 피아노 소나타는 초기, 중기, 후기의 세 시기로 구분할 수 있으며, 〈피아노 소나타 Op. 109〉는 후기에 속하는 작품이다. 알레그로 소나타 형식인 1, 2악장과 변주곡 형식인 3악장으로 구성되어 있고, 펼침화음과 긴 트릴의 사용으로 표현적인 측면에서 낭만성이 드러나는 작품이다. 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가인 프레데리크 쇼팽(Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, 1810-1849)은 200여곡이 넘는 피아노 작품을 남겼다. 그는 문학 장르인 발라드를 피아노 음악으로 양식화하였고, 총 4곡의 발라드를 작곡하였다. 〈발라드 4번〉은 그중 마지막으로, 빈번한 전조와 반음계의 사용으로 인하여 화성적으로 모호한 것이 특징이다. 또한 기교적으로 까다로운 코다와 대위법적인 패시지가 돋보이는 작품이다. 세르게이 프로코피예프(Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev, 1891-1953)는 20세기 러시아의 대표적인 작곡가이자 피아니스트이다. 그는 신고전주의의 영향을 받아 전통적인 형식에 본인만의 독창적인 현대적 음악 어법을 더하였다. 〈피아노 소나타 1번〉은 상트페테르부르크 음악원에 재학하던 시기에 남긴 습작을 발전시킨 곡으로, 반음계와 온음계의 사용, 잦은 변박과 헤미올라 리듬이 특징이다.

This thesis is based on my master's graduation recital program of J. Rameau 〈Les Nouvelles Piéces de Clavecin en La〉, L. v. Beethoven 〈Piano Sonata No. 30 in E Major, Op. 109〉, F. Chopin 〈Ballade No. 4 in F minor, Op. 52〉, and S. Prokofiev 〈Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 1〉. The purpose of this paper is to examine historical background and analyze structure of each piece to enhance the comprehension of the piece. Jean-Philippe Rameau was a leading theorist and composer in the late Baroque period. Rameau composed three collections of clavier solo suites, the last of which, with A tonic, was included in 〈Les Nouvelles Piéces de Clavecin en La〉. This suite is characterized by the coexistence of traditional dances and character pieces, and the development of melody and harmony through sequence. It employs various types of forms, including binary, variation, and rondo form. Ludwig van Beethoven is a composer who represents German Classical Music. His piano sonatas can be categorized into early, middle, and late period. 〈Piano Sonata No. 30〉 belongs to the late period. The first and second movements are sonata-allegro form and the third movement is variation form. This sonata shows romantic features through its expression and the use of long trills. Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, a leading Romantic composer, wrote more than 200 piano works. He stylized the literary genre of ballad into piano music and composed four ballads.〈Ballade No. 4〉 is the last of these, and is characterized by its harmonic ambiguity due to the frequent use of modulation and chromatic scales. It is also characterized by technically demanding coda and contrapuntal passages. Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev was a leading Russian composer and pianist of the 20th century. He was influenced by Neoclassicism and added his own unique modern musical language to traditional forms. 〈Piano Sonata No. 1〉 is a development of his work from his student period at St. Petersburg Conservatory. It is characterized by the use of chromatic and diatonic scales, frequent use of irregular time, and hemiola rhythms.
