W. A. Mozart 《Piano Sonata in F Major, K. 332》, R. Schumann 《Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13》, C. Debussy 《Suite Bergamasque》 연주 및 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사과정 졸업 연주 프로그램인 W. A. Mozart 《Piano Sonata in F Major, K. 332》, R. Schumann 《Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13》, C. Debussy 《Suite Bergamasque》에 대한 연구이다. 볼프강 아마데우스 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791)는 오스트리아 태생의 고전시대를 대표하는 작곡가로 짧은 생애 동안 18개의 피아노 소나타를 작곡하였다. 그중 《피아노 소나타 K.332》는 파리 여행을 하던 당시에 작곡된 곡으로 모차르트의 이전 피아노 소나타와 비교해 전체적으로 곡의 규모가 확대되었고, 포르테의 강조를 통한 다이나믹의 급격한 대조와 관현악적 색채가 드러나는 등 만하임 악파의 영향이 두드러진다. 또한 단조의 삽입구가 많이 사용되었고 여러 꾸밈음과 함께 다양한 리듬의 반주가 사용되었다. 로베르트 슈만(Robert Schumann, 1810-1856)은 독일 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가로 뛰어난 문학적 소양을 바탕으로 문학에서의 영감을 음악에 접목시켜 깊은 내면세계를 표현하였다. 슈만의 대표적 작품 중 하나인 《교향적 연습곡, Op. 13》은 1834년에 작곡된 곡으로 독주 악기인 피아노를 통해 관현악의 색채와 장대한 규모를 표현하고자 하였다. 또한 다양한 기교를 통해 연습곡의 특징을 담아내는 동시에 주제의 주요 음형이 여러 변주에 걸쳐 등장하는 변주곡의 형태를 취하고 있다. 대부분의 변주에 부점 리듬과 당김음이 사용되었고 대위적인 양식을 사용하여 성부를 구분함으로써 여러 악기의 음색 가능성과 폭 넓은 다이내믹, 그리고 두꺼운 텍스처를 통해 관현악적 음향을 만들어 내었다. 클로드 드뷔시(Claude Debussy, 1862-1918)는 세기 전환기의 새로운 음악 사조인 인상주의 음악을 대표하는 프랑스의 작곡가이다. 다수의 피아노 작품을 남긴 드뷔시의 초기 작품 중 하나인《베르가마스크 모음곡》은 드뷔시의 첫 모음곡으로 바로크시대에 서주적 성격을 띠는 전주곡과 전통적인 춤곡들, 그리고 성격 소품이 결합된 근대적 모음곡이다. 바로크 시대 이후 소나타의 장르가 성행한 고전시대와 주로 성격 소품을 묶어 모음곡을 작곡하였던 낭만시대에는 춤곡에 의한 전통적인 모음곡을 수용하는 작곡가가 드물었다. 이 작품은 드뷔시의 작품 중 옛 양식을 의미하는 조곡(Suite)으로 신고전주의적 성격을 띠는 동시에 교회선법, 4도, 5도, 8도의 병행진행, 글리산도, 5음음계 등 다양한 음악적 기법이 드러난다.

This thesis is based on my masters degree recital program, which included W. A. Mozart 《Piano Sonata in F Major, K.332》, R. Schumann 《Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13》, C. Debussy 《Suite Bergamasque》. The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure and understand historical background of each work to enhance understanding of the pieces. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is an Austrian composer who is considered one of the most significant figures of the Classical period. His work, 《Piano Sonata in F Major, K.332》, was composed during his stay in Paris and composed. Influenced by the Mannheim School, this sonata employs dramatic dynamic contrast, orchestral colors and expansion of scales compared to his previous sonatas. Robert Schumann is a German composer who represented the Romantic period of 19th Century in Europe.《Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13》 was composed in 1834 to transcend the instrumental limitation of the piano and expressed the colorful sound and grand scale of an orchestra with thick textures, syncopations, contrapuntal techniques, and wide range of dynamics. Claude Debussy is a representative French composer of the impressionism in music, a new musical genre that emerged at the turn of the 20th century. One of Debussys early work,《Suite Bergamasque》, consisting of four pieces, Prelude, Menuet, Clair de lune and Passpied which include traditional dance movements and character pieces. This piece was influenced by Baroque Suites, and Debussy used the word Suite in this piece while also combaining modern harmony expression and compositional techniques such as pentatonic scales, church mode, glissando and parallel progress of 4th, 5th, and 8th degrees.
