| dc.description.abstract | 이 논문은 historia, res gesta, exemplum이라는 색인어를 중심으로 로마가 역사를 어떤 시선으로 보았고, 역사를 어떤 식으로 활용했는지에 대해서 살펴보았다. 역사를 바라보는 시선은 키케로를 기점으로 해서 급변했고, 역사를 활용하는 방식도 정치 엘리트의 교육에서 국가의 정체성 확립으로 확대되었으며, 이런 과정에서 역사를 서술하는 법칙도 확고하게 자리 잡았다. 로마에서 역사가 그리스의 철학에 준하는 반열에 자리매김된 것도 실은 역사 논쟁과 살루스티우스, 리비우스, 아티쿠스, 키케로와 같은 인문학자들의 노력 덕분이었다. 결론적으로 역사책들이 로마에서 역사 텍스트들이 철학과 문학의 반열에 올라 나란히 고전의 대접을 받을 수 있는 데에는 키케로와 퀸틸리아누스와 같은 수사학자들의 노력 덕분이었다. | - |
