미얀마인 한국어 학습자를 위한 추측 양태 표현 교육 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 미얀마인 학습자, 특히 미얀마 4년제 대학에서 한국어를 전공 으로 공부하는 3, 4학년 학습자를 대상으로 그들의 추측 양태 표현 -겠-, -(으)ㄹ 것이다, -(으)ㄹ 텐데(요), -(으)ㄹ걸(요), -는가/(으)ㄴ가/나 보다, - (으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ 모양이다, -(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ 것 같다, -(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ지 (도) 모르다의 이해 양상을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 효과적인 추측 양태 표현의 교육 내용을 제안하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 구체적인 연구의 수행 과정은 다음과 같다. 먼저 II 장에서는 한국어 추측 양태 표현 교육 연구의 전제가 되는 이론 적 배경을 살펴보았다. 한국어교육에서 추측 양태 표현을 다룬 대표적인 연구들을 검토하고 추측 양태 표현 항목 간의 변별점을 형태·통사, 의미, 담화·화용 세 차원에서 고찰하였다. 그다음, 학습자의 모국어가 외국어 학습에 영향을 줄 수 있다는 점을 고려하여 미얀마어 추측 양태 표현의 특성을 살펴보며, 한국어와 미얀마어 간에 있는 차이점을 알아보고 두 언어 간의 차이로 인해 발생할 수 있는 학습상의 난점을 예측하였다. 또한 미얀마 내 대학교의 한국어 추측 양태 표현 교육 현황을 파악하기 위해 미얀마 대학교에서 사용되고 있는 한국어 교재 다섯 종을 선정하여 교재에 제시되는 추측 양태 표현의 교육 내용을 살펴보고 분석하였다. 이어서 III 장에서는 한국어 추측 양태 표현에 대한 미얀마인 학습자의 이해 양상을 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 미얀마인 학습자 80명(3학년 40명, 4학년 40명)과 한국어 모어 화자 40명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 조사 도구에는 총 세 가지 텍스트 유형이 포함되어 있는데, 그중 문법 성 판단 테스트에서는 형태·통사적 층위의 이해 양상을 측정하고자 하였고, 두 개의 선다형 테스트에서는 의미적 층위와 담화·화용적 층위의 이해 양상을 측정하고자 하였다. 그다음, 조사 결과 분석 부분에서는 추측 양태 표현의 형태·통사, 의미, 담화·화용 세 층위 그리고 학습자의 학년 요인에 중점을 두어 층위별, 학년별 두 부분으로 나누어서 학습자의 추측 양태 표현 이해 양상을 분석하였다. 마지막으로 IV 장에서는 앞서 분석한 내용을 바탕으로 미얀마인 학습자를 위한 한국어 추측 양태 표현의 교육 내용에 대해서 제안하였다. 이를 위해 우선 미얀마 학습자를 위한 추측 양태 표현 교육의 총체적인 목표를 설정하였다. 이어서 미얀마인 학습자들이 추측 양태 표현 항목들 간 변별을 할 수 있도록 세 가지의 교육 내용 원리를 기저로 하여 II 장에서 살펴본 추측 양태 표현의 형태·통사적, 의미적, 담화·화용적 특성과 III 장에서 분석한 학습자의 이해 양상을 반영하여 효과적인 추측 양태 표현의 교육 내용을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 추측 양태 표현의 의미적 부분에 대한 한국어 학습자의 이해 양상에 초점을 맞추었던 대다수의 기존 연구와 달리, 본 연구는 학습자의 의미적 층위에 국한하지 않고, 형태·통사적 층위와 담화·화용적 층위까지 연구의 폭을 넓혔다는 점에서 한국어 추측 양태 표현 교육 관련 논의를 더욱 풍성하게 하는 데 기여할 수 있다. 또한, 한국어교육에서 아직 이루어지지 않는 미얀마인 학습자의 추측 양태 표현에 대한 이해 양상을 학년별로 고찰하고 교육 내용을 제안함으로써 향후 미얀마인 학습자를 위한 추측 양태 표현 교육 발전에 바탕이 될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze Myanmar learners understanding of Korean Modal Expressions of Conjecture and to propose effective educational content of Modal Expressions of Conjecture based on this. In Chapter II, examined the theoretical background that is the premise of Korean Modal Expressions of Conjecture education research. This study reviewed representative studies dealing with Modal Expressions of Conjecture in Korean language education, and considered the distinction between Modal Expressions of Conjecture in three dimensions: morphological and syntactic patterns, meaning, discourse and pragmatic aspects. Next, considering that the learner's native language can affect foreign language learning, this study examined the characteristics of Myanmar's Modal Expressions of Conjecture. In addition, reviewed and analyzed the educational contents of Modal Expressions of Conjecture presented in Korean textbooks. In Chapter III, examined Myanmar learners understanding of Korean Modal Expressions of Conjecture. For this purpose, this paper conducted a survey targeting 80 Myanmar learners(40 in the 3rd year, 40 in the 4th year) and 40 Korean native speakers. The survey tool included the following three questions types: a grammatical judgment test and multiple choice tests II and III. Then, in the analysis of the survey results, the learners understanding of Modal Expressions of Conjecture was analyzed by dividing them into two parts, one by morphological & syntactic patterns, meaning, discourse & pragmatic aspects, and the other by year of study. Finally, in Chapter IV, based on the previous analysis, this study proposed the educational content of Korean Modal Expressions of Conjecture for Myanmar learners. First, this study set the overall goal of Modal Expressions of Conjecture education for Myanmar learners. Then, in order to help Myanmar learners distinguish between Modal Expressions of Conjecture items, this study proposed effective educational content of Modal Expressions of Conjecture by reflecting the morphological and syntactic patterns, meaning, discourse and pragmatic aspects of Modal Expressions of Conjecture examined in Chapter II and the learner's understanding patterns analyzed in Chapter III. Unlike most previous studies that focused on the learning patterns of Korean learners on the semantic part of Modal Expressions of Conjecture, this study can contribute to enriching discussions related to Korean Modal Expressions of Conjecture education in that it has expanded the scope of research in morphology and syntax, semantic, discourse and pragmatics, not limited to the semantic part of learners. In addition, the results of analyzing Myanmar learners' understanding of Modal Expressions of Conjecture, which have not yet been achieved in Korean language education by year of study, are important data for understanding the acquisition process of Myanmar learners and are expected to be based on the development of Modal Expressions of Conjecture education for Myanmar learners in the future.
