This paper presents a quasiexperimental study exploring the use of written corrective feedback in aiding the learners' acquisition of the English articles. The debate regarding 'how to teach grammar' is a difficult debate to close because we haven't fully answered the question of which device is the. most effective in teaching each grammar form. In practice, it is up to the decision‐making strategy of the instructor that will define 'how to teach grammar' in a classroom. The instructor must consider the inherent properties inside each grammar form upon choosing a teaching device and the more information the instructor has in making the decision, the more effective it will be. A research on one teaching device, written corrective feedback, for one grammar form, English articles, is presented in this paper. (Seoul National University)-
