양진주의와 비고전적 메타언어

Abstract

양진주의와 관련된 복수문제를 해결하기 위해, 웨버는 비고전적 메타언어를 사용하는 2가적 의미론을 도입할 것을 주장한다. 이러한 주장에 필자도 부분적으로 동의한다. 고전적 메타언어를 사용하는 다가적 의미론에 기초할 경우 복수문제를 야기하는 배타적 부정의 도입을 피하기 어렵기 때문이다. 그러나 비고전적 메타언어에 기초해도 복수문제가 발생한다. 그리고 이것이 필자가 이 글에서 보이고자 하는 것이다. 간단히 말해, 비고전적 메타언어를 사용하는 2가적 의미론을 수용할 경우, 모든 논증이 부당해진다는 문제가 발생하는데 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 불가피하게 복수문제를 야기하는 새로운 배타적 부정을 도입해야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 필자의 논의는 복수문제에 대한 새로운 이해를 요구하는 것이기도 하다. 필자의 논의는 복수문제가 메타언어의 고전성과는 독립적임을 보여주는 것이기 때문이다.

To solve revenge problems of dialetheism, Weber insists on introducing bivalent semantics using a non-classical meta-language. When using many-valued semantics based on classical meta-language, it is difficult to avoid the introduction of exclusive negation, which implies revenge. Therefore, we partially agree with Webers argument. However, even based on the bivalent semantics proposed by Weber, we cannot avoid revenge, which is what we want to show in this article. In short, if we accept the bivalent semantics, all reasoning in the Logic of Paradox becomes invalid, and to solve this problem, a new exclusive negation should be introduced. Of course, in this case, we face the problem of revenge again. Our discussion in this paper also calls for a new understanding of revenge problems. Our arguments show that revenge problems are independent of the classicality of meta-language.
