- Abstract
- In recent, the adoption of annual salary system in Korean company has
been a compelling issues. However its effectiveness in the organization has
not been examined empirically. Two kinds of annual salary system,
motivation-oriented annual salary system and cost reduction-oriented annual
salary system. are compared in terms of their impact on the organizational
effectiveness and intention to turnover under the consideration of
different cultural background of the organization members.
The organization adopting motivation-oriented salary system has more
positive effect on increasing organizational effectiveness and decreasing the
intention of turnover than the organization adopting cost reduction-oriented
salary system does. Also their positive effect is stronger under the individualistic
cultural characteristics of the organization members than
under the collectivistic cultural characteristics of the organization members.
