Abstract
This paper reviews the nature of community from the viewpoint of sociology and also examines the reason based on organizational behavior theory why the participation in decisions is a useful way to create union-management partnerships(community spirit). As conclusion, the paper suggests the directions of participation in decisions in Korean firms as follows: a firm belief and strong support from top management about participation in decisions, strengthening shop floor participation, enhancement of education and training, strengthening the functions of joint consultation committee. etc.
