In this paper the authors examined the effect of the Military Reading Movement on

soldiers quality of military life, and proposed ways to further enhance its effects. We applied

the SER-M model, which consists with the subject (leaders of the military force), the

environment, the resources, and the mechanism, as the factors that determine the results. For

the analysis of the quality of soldiers, we developed and applied the following formula: Social

Development = Personal Success * Mechanism. We found that orientation of the military

leaders toward reading books and their commitment is critically important to the quality of

soldiers in the military. We also found that reading capability of individual soldiers and the

mechanism of sharing the knowledge among the soldiers were important. We concluded that

the Military Reading Movement as an integral force for both individual development of

soldiers capability and collective development of military power. We also proposed that the

concept of multidimensional approach such as the one used by the Management Book

Society, would elevate the Military Reading Movement to Military Reading Culture,
