- Since 1978, by pursuing reform and opening policy, Chinas economic development has been truly remarkable. It brought a rapid change in every field. So it it brought the Chinese society into an unprecedented change. Under this circumstances, it is very interesting and meaningful to study how this present Chinese-Korean students express their political attitudes. So this study is designed to examine the political attitudes of the university students of Korean descent in Yan Bian Chinese-Korean Autonomous region, China. This is fased on the firsthand materials gathered from the questionaire survey of the Chinese-Korean students of Yan Bian university informally conducted in the City of Van Ji, Yan Bian Autonomous Region. As everyone knows, the Chinese-Korean university students in Yan Bian Region are both Chinese nationals in nationality and Koreans in ethnicity, who belong to one of minority ethnic groups in China. So they have two sides; one of them is their national identity as the nationals of the Peoples Republic of China, the other their ethnic identity as Koreans. The investigation of the expression of their Political attitudes, therefore, is divided in two parts. The expression(Ⅰ) of their palitical attitudes is analysed from the the standpoint of their national identity as the Chinese nationals, and the expression(Ⅱ) of their political attitudes is analysed from the standpoint of their ethnic identity as Koreans, one of the minority ethnic groups. On the basis of the above mentioned, this study is composed of three parts. The first part is an analysis of the process of the political socialization of the Chinese-Korean university students in Yan Bian Autonomous Region. This involves an investigation of how their political attitudes are formed by agents of socialization in China, namely, the life of their language, mass media, communist youth League, and the school. The second part offers an analysis of the expression of their political attitudes. This includes an investigation of their social and political consciousness, their political participation and their images of ideal Chinese political leaders.
The third part is an analysis of the expression(Ⅱ) of their palitical attutudes. This is an examination of their ethnic identity as Koreans, their images of ideal Korean national figures, and their views of the unification of the Korean peninsula.
