Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the nature of the Confucian Wu-Wei political idea and its influence on traditional Chinese politics.

The Wu-Wei political idea is the essence of Confucian political thought. It had a tremendous impact on traditional Chinese politics. So it is very meaningful to explore the nature of the Wu-Wei political idea and its influence on traditional Chinese politics. This study is composed of five chapters.

The first chapter offers an introduction.

The second chapter examines the meaning the meaning of the Confucian Wu-Wei political idea. The third chapter analyses the images of the ideal ruler who is using the Wu-Wei political idea. The fourth chapter investigates what attitudes and objectives the ideal ruler using Wu-Wei politics should take. The fifth chapter consists of a summary and conclusion. This chapter sums up the above mentioned and, on the basis of it, concretely explores the influence of the Wu-Wei political idea on traditional Chinese politics
