Abstract
In order to realize its ideology, Confucianism presents a variety of practical clauses and practical methods. The Mean, Sincerity and Equalizing are the practical principles to integrate such practical problems in Confucianism. 'The Mean' is a fundamental principle to realize the Confucian value. Its function is to include all the varieties and to harmonize contrarily divided sides. 'The Sincerity' means the truthfulness as an element of one's personality. It is regarded as a principle to make one's internal personality meet the transcendent essence of the heaven. 'The Equalizing' is a concrete method to socially realize the principle of 'the Mean'. It is the ideal social order for the people and a principle to overcome all the social conflicts and to realize the harmony and the stability. Therefore, these three practical principles are so closely related as to be compared to three points of a triangle, that is, the apex is the principle of 'the Mean', and two other points are the personal subjectivity of 'the Sincerity' and the social order of 'the Equalizing'. In such a close relationship as the triangular structure, the principles of 'the Mean, Sincerity and Equalizing' constitute the Confucian practical system.
