고로쇠나무 수액 채취가 주민소득에 미치는 영향 - 서울대학교 남부연습림 인근 광양시 산촌의 경우

Abstract

Trees of Acer mono are more important as a source of sap tapping rather than timber production in the City of Kwangyang, where the sap tapping has been an old practice. The sap tapping is an important source of income to the villagers of rural communities near the Seoul National University Forest. A survey was made to find out the current practice of sap tapping by villagers and the effect of sap tapping on their livelihood. The result of survey indicates there is a correlation between the stock of Acer mono resources in the University Forest nearby and the amount of sap tapped. The survey also revealed that there is a tendency of higher income when the amount of sap tapped by the households' is larger. Most of households participating in the sap tapping employ their own labor for sap tapping while the number of family members has a correlation to the amount of sap tapped. This result suggests that the University forest should be managed such that more Acer mono trees can be grown in order to support the livelihood of local communities nearby.
