- Phillipp Brothers Division (以下 Phi-bro로 稱함)은 뉴욕 所在 Engelhard Minerals & Chemicals Corporation (以下 Engelhard로 稱함)의 3 Division中의 하나로서 Engelhard는 Engelhard의 3 Division과 같이 구성되어 있다.
1960年代 美國 企業의 特徵인 공글로머리트戰略은 Engelhard와 Phi-bro合併에서도 나타나며, 다른 企業의 공글로머리트化에 比해 特異한 點은 產業資本의 商業資本合併化란 點이다. 이는 國際資源 내셔널리즘 및 資源의 不足이라는 國際政治, 經濟的 背景에서 資源開發 및 精製產業 인 Engelhard와 資源流通商社인 Phi-bro의 結合으로 生產部門과 流通部門에의 多角化에 依한 危險 負擔의 輕減 및 利益의 增大를 도모하고자 하는 시스템的 思考下에 複合化가 推進된 事例이다
