Abstract

本書는 大學에서 生産 및 「어퍼레이션스」管理(production and operations management)의 基嚴科目을 위하여 「The University of Missouri-Columbia」의 敎授인 두 著者에 의하여 著述된 敎科書이다. 歷史的으로 觀察해 보면 企業의 生産活動에 관한 硏究는 20C初에서라면 場管理(shop-m anagement)라는 體系위에서 이의 重要內容으로 다뤄졌으며， 最近에 이르러서는 生産管理(production management), 生産 및 「어퍼레이션스」管理(production/operations management) , 「시스템」分析(system analysis) 그리고 經營科學 (management science) 과 같은 여러 領城에 걸쳐 廣範圍하게 다뤄져 왔다.
