| dc.description.abstract | 1995년 미국 Luce 재단 기금을 받은 University of California, San Diego를 중심으로 한 환태평양 9개국 13개 대학도서관들이 디지털 자료, 전자 정보를 각 회원기관의 이용자들에게 온라인으로 제공하고, 온라인 이용이 어려운 자료는 상호 원문 복사/상호대차 등의 방법으로 이용자들이 요구하는 연구자료 접근을 좀더 쉽게 하자는 것을 주 목적으로 한 PRDLA는 궁극적으로는 환태평양과 관련된 지식의 양이 매우 빠른 속도로 증가함에 따라, 단일 도서관이 이 지역에 관한 방대한 정보를 유지할 수 없음을 인식하고 환태평양 연안의 대표 대학도서관 자료들을 지역의 정치, 언어, 기술적 장벽을 뛰어넘어 보다 쉽게 비용면에서 효율적이고 능률적인 방법으로 제공할 수 있는 인터넷 상에 환태평양 지역 전자도서관 설립을 목표로 하고 있다. | - |
