Abstract

Record industry in Korea began in 1907, but record censorship was begun in 1933 when influence of record culture increased in substance. And after this record censorship was enforced continuously until the Japanese Occupation"s end. Record censorship was applied over all territories, production, circulation, consumption, and finally, drove record company"s self-censorship. So suppression of record through censorship went into a decline gradually except just after outbreak of Sino-Japanese War. The reason of record censorship was to prevent breaking into public order and destruction of morals. After 1937, outbreak of Sino-Japanese War, one reason that was buildup of war structure was added better.
