Abstract
This manuscript describes that Choi, Namsuns view on the world and literature shown in The Cheongchoon(『靑春』) which was a periodic magazine edited and published by him from 1914 to 1918. The Cheongchoon provided topics on all aspects of existing knowledges and new trends in modern culture of early 20th century including broad areas such as natural science, history, novel, poetry, comic story, and world information from east to west countries. In 1910s, Choi was considered as a pioneer in Korea who tried to introduce the modern ideas, foreign literatures, and advanced natural sciences through this magazine. Recently, studies concerning the reconsideration of Korean modernity, nationalism, and literature formed in 1910s are significantly increasing. His action have been criticized for his mistake against colonial policy, however, we can find his universal idea on the world and literature in the above magazine.
