This paper aims to elaborate the politics of representation in Samcheolee in terms of its way of describing socialists. As a legal media, Samcheolee played a vital role in depicting many illegal socialists with its various legal strategies of representing them. Firstly, socialists are described as a common person who is seducing, loving, or betraying his/her partner in Samcheolee. Secondly, many socialists, who were placed under arrest, were eroticized as well as romanticized by Samcheolee. Thirdly, the most effective way of representing socialists without any possible regulation was to regard them as heroes/heroins in rumors or in retrospective narratives.-
