- Abstract
- To clarify the taxonomy of Rosaceae, Maloideae, herbarium specimens collected from South Korea past fifty five years were examined on the basis of leaf, flower, and fruit morphology. This study showed that eight genera (Sorbus, Pyrus, Malus, Crataegus, Amelanchier, Cotoneaster, Photinia, and Rhaphiolepis) with thirteen taxa could be recognized: sorbus alnifolia, S. commixta, S. pohuashanensis, Pyrus ussuriensis, P. pyrifolia, P. fauriei, Malus toringo, M. baccata, Crataegus pinnatifida, Amelanchier asiatica, Photinia villosa, Rhaphiolepis indica var. umbellata, and Cotoneaster multiflorus. Based on herbarium specimens deposited at The Arboretum herbarium (SNUA) to these taxa, the distribution maps and keys were provided here.
