- Korea is geographically and floristically diverse, with over 2,500 species documented as occurring in Korea. Our flora is most closely related to the northeastern and central Chinese and Japanese flora. A simple examination of the regional arrangement of peninsula helps us picture several possible transmigration routes of plants during the Tertiary and the Quaternary time.
